Regenerative Medicine

As your body ages, its ability to heal diminishes, and as a result, the rate of degeneration can accelerate. Regenerative medicine is designed to fight this process.

A Range of Treatment Options
& Customized Plans

Regenerative Medicine is a hot topic right now. You hear about it on the news and on the internet. It is getting a lot of attention because, when done correctly, it works! As we age, our bodies often begin to degenerate. This degeneration manifests itself as conditions like arthritis (degenerative joint disease), conditions of the disc (degenerative disc disease), as well as just minor aches and pains caused by wear and tear. As your body ages, its ability to heal diminishes, and as a result, the rate of degeneration can accelerate. Regenerative medicine is designed to fight this process. The only way to combat degeneration is Regeneration.

Everyone that offers Regenerative medicine claims that their treatment is better than everyone else’s. Sadly, slick marketing doesn’t usually translate into better results for patients. Regenerative medicine is not a one-size-fits-all proposition. What separates great providers from everyone else is their ability to choose from the widest range of treatment options and customize a plan that works for your specific condition.

At Lifestyles Healthcare Group, we strive to be the best team in helping you get true relief from pain. To accomplish this mission, we offer a very wide range of options for treating degeneration (see below). We subscribe to the true-but-unpopular philosophy that there is no one magical cure. Every person heals differently. Different conditions have different needs. When you visit us at Lifestyles Healthcare Group, we first work with you to gain an in-depth understanding of your condition before making any recommendations.

Regenerative Medicine Options Offered At Lifestyles Healthcare Group:

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)

PRP can be a great tool for treating many areas of pain and degeneration. PRP is rich in growth factors that stimulate your body to heal.

To get PRP, we draw some of your own blood, spin it down to isolate the platelets and growth factors, and then inject it directly into the area where it’s needed. Note that PRP is sometimes incorrectly marketed as stem cells. Even though you may find stem cells in PRP, the true benefit of the procedure is the growth factors.

Amniotic fluid

Amniotic fluid is one of the best sources of growth factors. It is a donated tissue that is collected during planned C-sections that have been screened for purity.

Amniotic fluid is then cultured and processed to produce a common, reliable treatment. Similar to PRP, Amniotic Fluid may also contain a small amount of stem cells, but its true benefit is primarily the growth factors.

Amniotic Allograft

Often referred to as Amniotic stem cells, this product has a higher concentration of stem cells than both PRP and Amniotic Fluid. It is also a donated tissue that is collected from the placenta. It is a rich source of both growth factors and stem cells.

While many companies market this as stem cells, it is highly regulated by various government bodies and is more accurately called Amniotic Allograft. It is an incredible option for regenerative medicine that can be very effective.

Umbilical Cord Blood

Many people have heard of umbilical cord blood or umbilical stem cells. It is common practice for hospitals to ask if mothers want to save their umbilical cord blood when they deliver a baby. It has been shown to be extremely effective in treating certain conditions and has saved lives.

While a great treatment for certain systemic conditions it is not the best option for arthritis and joint pain when compared to something like Umbilical Cord Matrix or Bone Marrow.

Umbilical Cord Matrix

This is one of the most versatile options for regenerative medicine. Umbilical Cord Matrix usually has a very high concentration of stem cells, growth factors, hyaluronic acid and other regenerative properties.

Umbilical Cord matrix comes from Umbilical cord tissue. It is a donated tissue and is processed to make it both commonly used as well as extremely effective.
